Peregrine Grover known as "P.M." was educated at Upper Canada College.
bout 1842, he settled in the young town of Peterborough where he entered into partnership with James Foley, who, a short time later, became his brother-in-law. The firm of Grover & Foley, originally a real "general" store, included a Lumber-yard, a similar branch of the business in the hamlet of Keene as well as the small store of James Foley, located in Norwood, which had been opened in 1837.
He was part of a group that systematic planned and surveyed the establishment of the village of Norwood.
He was a Warden of Peterbrough and a Director of Canada West Farmer's Mutual & Stock Insurance Co. In 1867 too, Mr. Grover became Conservative candidate for Federal government of new Dominion of Canada and won a seat in the First Parliament.
